Hello and welcome to my web site dedicated to the BMW R1100RT-P motorcycle.

What does the "P" stand for... Police!

This is the "Authority Motor" version of BMW's renown R1100RT.

Specifically, my bike is a 2000 model ex-CHP (California Highway Patrol) motor... the Police call them motors, not bikes.

While this is essentially an R1100RT there are many significant differences between the civilian and Police models.

One of the reasons for this web site is that while there is a deluge of information available on the internet about the R-series bikes and BMW bikes in general there seems to be a lack of information relating to the "P" model bikes.

While I do not claim that this is in any way a comprehensive repository of knowledge I do hope that as time passes it will become more comprehensive as information is added my myself and also from other "P" owners from their own research and experiences.
